March 4, 2009 — Gary Player and Black Knight International executives joined developer Santiago Obarrio and his family in Mendoza, Argentina for the launch of the first Gary Player Signature Course and Player-branded real estate in Argentina. Located in the heart of the Mendocino wine country, Aymuray Wine & Golf Club is a one-of-a-kind development that integrates wine-making, golf, polo, nature trails, six-star resort amenities and a sophisticated lifestyle – all spread over 10,000 acres at the foot of the snow-capped Andes Mountains.

Mendoza is classified as one of the wine capitals of the world, on a par with regions such as Tuscany, Napa, Bordeaux, Cape Town and Melbourne. Aptly translated as “the celebration of balance between man and nature” the Aymuray philosophy is based on respect for the pristine land while incorporating leading technology and design elements.

Captivated by the mountainous panorama and undulating topography, Gary Player expressed excitement about the company’s first project in Argentina: “No question this will be one of the most spectacular places to play golf in all of Latin America, and I’m thrilled to have a hand in creating something truly special in Aymuray.”

The development will offer up to 500 residential units ranging from small villas to grand estate homes, carrying the signature identity of Player Real Estate. A unique feature of the larger estates will be the privately kept vineyards, each of which will harvest grapes according to the palates and preferences of the estate owners.

Design work has already commenced on the Gary Player-designed course that will be routed through the valleys of the Aymuray highlands. Prior to the marketing launch on February 24th, Gary Player and Senior Designer Brian Lussier walked the site and discussed design concepts for the 18-hole championship layout which is scheduled to be completed in the next two years.
