MADISON, WI – Beginning in spring of 2009, the Oklahoma Golf Association (OGA) will be using the Laser Link Reflector System during each of its events. The OGA has allowed electronic measuring devices in the past, but this is the first year they will be enhancing their tournaments by using Laser Link reflectors. Many golf associations have been prompted to add the Laser Link Reflector System to their tournaments due to the growing popularity of laser rangefinders. Most recently, the Metropolitan Golf Association (New York) added Laser Link reflectors to their list of tournament necessities.
“Our goal is to make our tournaments the best that they can be, and adding the Laser Link reflectors will help to make our events better than ever,” said Steve Eckroat, executive director of the Oklahoma Golf Association. “A faster pace of play is always one of our objectives for each and every tournament, and adding the Laser Link reflectors will make for faster, more enjoyable rounds for our competitors.”
The Laser Link Reflector System is widely known as the best reflector design for the game of golf. The OGA will be using the SmartStick™ reflective flagstick, the top-of-the-line reflector product from Laser Link Golf. Reflectors are embedded directly into the body of the flagstick, for a seamless integration of design and function. Also available is the Smarty – a tiny reflector that screws onto the top of a regulation flagstick. Both are designed with performance and durability in mind.
“We are excited that the Oklahoma Golf Association is joining the reflector revolution,” said Dan Steiner, vice president of Laser Link Golf. “Laser Link reflectors really are the perfect combination of performance and durability, and they are the best way to make to-the-flagstick measurements fast and easy. Every competitor is sure to benefit from this added feature.”
