SMT Golf Inc. President and Club Designer of SMT Golf, Mike Tait had this to say about the debut of the DB Plus. “This has been a very special project from the beginning. A clubhead that is clearly finding its way into players bags at an astounding rate. We had only one DB Plus clubhead representing us at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, as that was all we had before the shipment arrived. That clubhead set a competitive driving distance record at 349 yards which was a full 22 yards longer than the Championship winning shot with our own 455 Deep Bore head a couple of years earlier”.
SMT Golf, has set driving distance records in several countries and has won more long drive events worldwide than any other company in the history of the game. Tait went on to say, “The first delivery of this new clubhead sold out in several lofts even before they arrived here at our warehouse. As soon as reports of how the club was playing had circulated, orders were pouring in from every corner of the globe and we only had a few dozen clubheads left in stock. Truthfully, we weren’t prepared for this type of reception, especially in this economy”. Tait continued, “We are certainly excited to say that the factory has just shipped our next order and we will once again be filling customer requests that are stacking up here at the office. This is really a very exciting thing to see in our market and I am thrilled that so many have found such success with this new and unique SMT Golf design. I am glad that golfers are finally realizing that while we made our mark in the sport of long drive, that we are a company that caters to golfers of all skill levels”.
