Area’s Best Players Compete in 36-Hole, Individual Stroke Play Tournament
(TALLAHASSEE, Fla.) – SouthWood Golf Club – the award-winning public course owned by The St. Joe Company and operated by Billy Casper Golf – today announces it will host the Tallahassee Amateur Golf Championship March 21-22.
The Tallahassee Amateur Golf Championship, in its third year, has emerged as one of the region’s premier events since the inaugural tournament in 2007. The $135 entry fee includes prize fund, green/cart fees, range balls and one practice round (with $17 cart fee) during the week of the tournament.
Players will be flighted by their handicap index and must have a valid USGA index to enter. Six flights will accommodate indexes ranging from 2.9 and lower to 17 and higher. The first flight will play from 6,900 yards, flights two through five from 6,500 yards, and the senior flight from 6,000 yards. Tee times will start at 11:30 a.m. each day.
