Jenison, MI (March 16, 2009) – Handicomp, Inc., the elder statesman in golf software services, is pleased to announce that it has extended an agreement with the Iowa Section PGA for it to continue to host the Iowa Golf League Championship. The Iowa Golf League Championship (www.IowaGolfLeague.com) is entering its fourth year and is part of the League System mix, which includes the Golf League Network (www.GolfLeagueNetwork.com).
The Iowa Golf League Championship (Iowa GLC) serves 2-person team leagues interested in having their winners qualify for and compete in the Iowa GLC Tournament, whereas the Golf League Network (GLN) serves a wide variety of Iowa leagues, including 1-8 person team leagues and social leagues. A major component of the League System is the Internet based league management software application, which benefits league courses, league administrators (secretaries), and league golfers. In a nutshell, the League System serves league golfers by marrying leading edge Internet technology with industry market power, such as the Iowa Section PGA. It is felt this combination is best able to grow the game of golf and further cultivate the social aspect of the game by promoting the theme “Golf is Fun”.
Troy Christensen, the Executive Director of the Iowa Section PGA says, “The Iowa GLC is entering its fourth year and we’re happy to further our relationship with Handicomp and continue to host the Iowa PGA Golf League Championship. We’re also excited to hear that Rick Smith has joined the team. He’s a well known PGA Professional and we think he’ll be a big help to us marketing the Iowa GLC to league golfers.”
According to Stewart Healey, President of Handicomp, “We are very pleased to extend our relationship with the Iowa Section. We’ve had a great history with them, they are a great group of forward thinking people, and they very much understand the scope and the importance of league play in Iowa.”
