PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA (March 20, 2009) – Three Ed Shearon-designed and built golf courses have repeated, for the fourth consecutive year, in the Top 15 on Golfweek America’s 2009 list of the best daily fee courses in the State.
Raven’s Claw Golf Club located in Limerick, PA; RiverWinds Golf Club in West Deptford Township, and Vineyard Golf at The Renault Winery in Egg Harbor Township, NJ were all ranked in the top 15 on Golfweek America’s Best rankings for daily fee courses.
Adding to Shearon’s accomplishment is the fact that all three golf courses received national recognition while still being affordable to the average player.
All three courses were designed and built around a concept and theme that architect Shearon described as minimalistic, strategic and affordable. All offer a challenging, enjoyable and affordable golf experience for public play.
Each of the three courses was completed at a much lower cost due to three unique land-use and construction features. RiverWinds Golf Course, which opened in September of 2002, was constructed on a previously unused industrial landfill. Vineyard Golf at Renault Winery, which opened in October 2004, used existing land that was owned and operated by the winery. Raven’s Claw Golf Club, which opened in July 2005, utilized housing construction to reduce infrastructure costs.
