Six Mile, S.C. (March 27) – Aaron Baddeley of Australia has reunited with his long-time junior golf instructor Dale Lynch at the International Institute of Golf, which will open its American base at The Cliffs at Keowee Springs near Greenville, S.C., on April 25.
Lynch coached the 28-year-old Baddeley for seven years starting at age 13 at the original Institute in Melbourne, Australia. During their time together, Baddeley was a two-time winner of the Australian Open, first as an 18-year-old amateur in 1999 and the second immediately after turning professional in 2000. Baddeley also won The Greg Norman International. He has won twice on the PGA Tour, at the 2006 Verizon Heritage and at the 2007 FBR Open.
Baddeley left Lynch in 2001 and has worked with David Leadbetter, Mike Bennett and Andy Plummer in the past eight years.
“I’m really excited to start working with Dale again and I feel he can take me where I want to go – to win major championships,” Baddeley told the Australian Associated Press.
“I am going to enjoy working with him again,” said Lynch, who along with partner Steve Bann has instructed nearly all of the top professional golfers from Australia in the last 18 years. “Our new facility here at The Cliffs at Keowee Springs gives us an advantage. It is convenient for our professional players and it is a world-class facility.”
Lynch and Bann, the principal director at IIG, currently instructs five of the world’s top 52 professionals, including Geoff Ogilvy, the world’s No. 4-ranked player. Professional and amateur clients alike will be able to visit the IIG at The Cliffs at Keowee Springs for instruction. For more information, call (864) 868-0477.
