The Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard at Bay Hill Club & Lodge; Kodak Challenge Hole: #18, Sunday, March 29, 2009; Tiger wins on Kodak Challenge hole; Seven co-leaders at 5-under-par
March 29, 2009 – All eyes were on this week’s Kodak Challenge hole as Tiger Woods won his first tournament in eight months with a thrilling 15-foot birdie putt as the impending darkness would have created a playoff on Monday. After a ferocious comeback on Sunday, Tiger, who had struggled on 18 so far, followed a beautiful drive with a perfect approach shot and capped it on with a flawless putt to create a memorable moment for all. Will MacKenzie, Steve Lowery and Ryuji Imada also managed to birdie the par 4 joining D.J. Trahan, J.B. Holmes, Chris DiMarco and Kevin Sutherland atop the Kodak Challenge leaderboard. Holmes double-bogeyed Thursday to drop into a tie for third place, however, his par on Friday erased the double-bogey and brought him back into a tie for first.
What’s New For Fans
Also this week, fans were able to check out the new Kodak Fan Photo Zone at the 18th tee to see great play and create their own memories of the beautiful 18th hole by having their picture taken in front of a green screen with this week’s Kodak Challenge hole. The backdrop image, provided by former LPGA player and noted golf photographer, Joann Dost, allowed fans to have a memorable picture of themselves at the golf course during tournament play when cameras are not typically allowed. The photos were printed on-site with Kodak printers, providing a keepsake right at the hole. In addition, fans were able to take advantage of this hands-on booth to learn about Kodak’s latest products and how they can even be used for their golf game – on and off the course.

About the Kodak Challenge Hole: #18
Designed by Arnold Palmer, this finishing hole looks deceivingly simple on paper. At 441 yards, this par 4 is straight away to a wide fairway, but that’s where the simplicity ends. The large, kidney-shaped green is fronted by rocks and water, requiring a longer carry to the right half. The bunkers left of the green await errant shots of the hydrophobic. In 2008, there were zero eagles, 44 birdies, 253 pars, 50 bogeys and 19 double bogeys. The full schedule of Kodak Challenge holes is available at kodakchallenge.com.
