LAKE MARY, FL – If you are planning on attending the 19th Annual ING Spring Conference May 17-21 at stunning French Lick Resort in southern Indiana, now is the right time to register.
After the regular price registration deadline passes on April 10, conference fees will rise up to 40 percent in all categories.
Anyone in the golf industry or media is invited to attend the conference, conducted by the non-profit International Network of Golf. Industry executives from companies large and small, and from every segment of the industry, will join golf media of all types at this annual gathering.
Now, more than ever, “you gotta be there.” Surrounded by a cloudy economic climate, the golf industry has never seen a better time to gather and communicate first-hand about challenges and solutions. And for 19 years, that has been the focus of all ING gatherings.
There are several sessions on the schedule that make this a “must-do” for all who are serious about the direction of the industry and their careers or businesses.
1) The Food For Thought breakfast is scheduled for Monday May 18 at 8 a.m. The panel will discuss specific issues and challenges facing companies and individuals in today’s volatile economic times. The audience will join into the discussion as well. Included thus far are Cathy Harbin, director of Golf 20/20 and its player development program, “Get Golf Ready In 5 Days;” Todd Lewis, commentator on The Golf Channel, and Golf Business magazine editor Ronnie Musselwhite.
2) Utilizing The New Social Media. This is more than a trend. Social media goes beyond having a web site and an email database. It is a way people share their stories and experiences with a community using blogs, podcasts, forums, and social networking web sites. If you haven’t heard the terms “Digg It”, “twittering” or “Blogspotting” then you need to attend this Social Media Workshop.
3) New Markets, New Marketing Concepts. Sometimes you have to look outside the box to find growth for your business or career. This panel delves into new markets, and new marketing strategies for any type of business.
4) The keynote speaker, Bruce Boguski, will deliver the motivational speech “Achieving the Impossible.” He will also conduct a seminar geared toward business and golf competitions entitled “The Zone-Peak Performance Under Pressure.” Boguski overcame paralysis from an accident to become a sports champion and nationally known speaker.
Other highlights from the upcoming conference:
A) The ever-popular One-On-One Appointment Show, a series of private meetings between exhibitors and media to open lines of communication, create unique promotional programs, gather story materials and build relationships.
B) The Demo Lab will feature companies large and small displaying their latest equipment and training gear on the practice range and green.
C) The International Pairs World Qualifier. A two-player team that wins this 18-hole net points competition at the brand new Pete Dye Course at French Lick will represent ING and the USA in the International Pairs World Finals at Carnoustie in Scotland. Also, the 2nd Annual Durland Cup Scramble will be conducted, as well as other golf events.
D) The ING Fashion Show. ING members will take to the runway as models, sporting the latest and greatest fashions from some of the industry’s top apparel companies.
Another terrific reason to attend this conference is the host site itself. French Lick just completed a $500 million renovation, and is launching a highly anticipated Pete Dye-designed course around the conference. The resort also boasts a refurbished Donald Ross course and a nine-hole resort course, two world-class hotels, spa services, a casino and several outstanding restaurants.
Those interested in attending may do so by visiting www.inggolf.com and clicking on Spring Conference. An electronic registration process is available. But remember to do so by April 10 for great savings.
