COLUMBIA, MD-Matt Berman doesn’t want a bailout from Washington…he did one better by winning his stimulus package through a partnership with the Montgomery County school system where students in K-6th grades will be able to take advantage of the country’s only at-school, after-school golf enrichment program throughout the school year.
“My TGA territory has been blessed by being approved in the prestigious Montgomery School District. I have been working hard to bring the TGA Program into the Montgomery Schools, and we finally won the okay this winter. To date, out of the more than 100 elementary schools in Montgomery County, TGA will be running programs in 15 schools this spring. Not bad for just getting approved on a few months ago,” says Berman.
“In fact, our growth has been quite strong…I’m increasing my programs by 5 to 10 new schools every school semester and we hope to bring our after-school enrichment program to half of the Montgomery County schools by Winter of next year. All in all, we are impacting hundreds of students every quarter. The fact that the TGA curriculum and experience is paid for by the parents is quite a testimonial to our concept especially in these economic hard times. I can best sum it up when I hear parents comment, ‘this is the best after-school program our school offers, will TGA be continuing the program so I can sign my child for the next level?'”

TGA’s 5 Level Program uses curriculums developed by PGA and LPGA Golf Professionals and child development and education experts. Their input has ensured that TGA’s curriculums reinforce educational concepts such as arithmetic and reading, while teaching golf.
