Jenison, MI (April 1, 2009) – Handicomp, Inc., the elder statesman in golf software services, is pleased to announce that it has extended an agreement with the Indiana Golf Course Owners Association for it to continue to host the Indiana Golf League Championship. The Indiana Golf League Championship (www.IndianaGolfLeague.com) is entering its third year and is part of the League System mix, which includes the Golf League Network (www.GolfLeagueNetwork.com).
The Indiana Golf League Championship (Indiana GLC) serves 2-person team leagues interested in having their winners qualify for and compete in the Indiana GLC Tournament, whereas the Golf League Network (GLN) serves a wide variety of Indiana leagues, including 1-8 person team leagues and social leagues. A major component of the League System is the Internet based league management software application, which benefits league courses, league administrators (secretaries), and league golfers. In a nutshell, the League System serves league golfers by marrying leading edge Internet technology with industry market power, such as the Indiana Golf Course Owners Association. It is felt this combination is best able to grow the game of golf and further cultivate the social aspect of the game by promoting the theme “Golf is Fun”.
Errol Klem, President of the INGCOA and owner of Winchester Golf Club, says, “We are very pleased to continue our relationship with Handicomp for our Indiana Golf League Championship. It was a huge success in 2008 and 2009 looks to be even bigger. In fact, we’re so confident in the system that if you are not putting a league into the program; you should think again. It’s a great way to “Grow the Game”.”
According to Stewart Healey, President of Handicomp, “From the start, the Indiana Golf Course Owners have been a great group of people to work with. They have a high amount of energy, they clearly see the bigger picture, and most importantly they have the patience to see a project through to success. I have no doubt that our partnership will continue to provide increased benefits to golfers in Indiana. And, I believe as Errol does that proactively focusing on leagues is a great way to grow the game.”
