PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL, April 7, 2009 -The EWGA (Executive Women’s Golf Association) has received the Honor Award from the National Association of Girls & Women in Sport (NAGWS). The presentation was made during the national convention of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) held in Tampa, Florida on March 31- April 4.
The Honor Award is presented by NAGWS to an individual or group that “exemplifies the spirit of devoted service to girls’ and women’s sports and who have by their leadership and industry made an outstanding and noteworthy contribution to the advancement of girls and women in sport.”
“We are honoring the EWGA for all it has done and continues to do in both promoting the game of golf to women and helping them learn the game,” says NAGWS president Dr. Ketra Armstrong of Cal State University Long Beach.
The Honor Award is the most prestigious award presented by the NAGWS and has been presented since 1975. Penny Hulbert, president of Financial Links, Inc and the past president of the EWGA Board of Directors accepted the award on behalf of the association.
