PLANO, TEXAS, April 7, 2009 – Adams Golf (NasdaqCM:ADGF): Adams Golf Staff player Brittany Lincicome won the 2009 Kraft Nabisco Championship in dramatic fashion by first splitting the fairway with her Speedline Driver and then hitting her 22-degree Idea Pro Hybrid to within four feet on the 72nd hole of regulation. After rolling in the eagle putt, she claimed her first trophy at a major championship. “It was the best shot of my life, ” said Lincicome referring to her approach from the fairway. “Thank you to Adams Golf. They helped me make that awesome shot.” This was Lincicome’s third career victory overall, including the 2006 HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship and the 2007 Ginn Open.
Lincicome’s final round, 3-under-par 69 was enough to top best friend Kristy McPherson and 11-time LPGA Tour winner Christie Kerr by one stroke. Besides the Speedline Driver and 22-degree Idea Pro Hybrid, Lincicome also carried the Adams Golf Insight BTY Fairway Wood and the Idea Pro Irons in her bag on the way to victory. Lincicome’s win marked the first time a member of the Adams Golf LPGA Staff has won a major championship.
“Having the number one hybrid in golf, we are proud to see our equipment showcased by such a talented player as Brittany, ” said Chip Brewer, President and CEO of Adams Golf. “Her shot from the fairway with the hybrid was one of the more thrilling of the entire golf season and truly made for an exciting finish to the tournament.”
In addition to Lincicome’s win at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, Adams Golf had three other LPGA staff players finish in the top-20 at the tournament. Lindsey Wright tied her career-best major championship finish with a final round 69, good for fourth place. Yani Tseng and Brittany Lang each tied for 17th place.
