Clarus Officer, Former IMG Vice President Drew Mearns Named Executive Director
(LARKSPUR, California) – Clarus Transphase Scientific™, Inc. – developer and manufacturer of Q-Link and other wellness products featuring Sympathetic Resonance Technology (SRT) – announces founding of the Clarus Performance Institute (CPI) devoted to facilitating education and research in field-based energy technologies.
Serving as a platform for a range of initiatives sponsored by Clarus and other institutions, CPI will be overseen by Executive Director Drew Mearns, who also functions as Head of Business Development for Clarus Transphase Scientific, Inc. The institute has already funded and published its first research paper studying the impact of SRT on performance in the areas of attention, motor speed, accuracy and reaction time.
“CPI is a vital, independent body committed to providing leadership, training and research in field-based energy technologies, including but not limited to SRT,” says Mearns. “Our initial work is focused on the golf, action sports, spa, running and participatory sports markets, but the long-term goal is to span all aspects of the human experience.”
The institute will partner with individuals and businesses to create educational materials, seminars, programs, research and other resources exploring and reporting on how field-based technologies impact wellness relating to personal and professional performance. CPI will also form and announce an independent, non-compensated Board of Directors who will contribute to all educational and research initiatives.
“During these challenging times, a new paradigm is emerging that requires access to a broad spectrum of information related to maximizing human performance,” adds Richard Gray, Clarus President and CEO. “This knowledge will key a more complete understanding of health and wellness, just as proper nutrition and medical services are based on widely accepted research.”
Mearns’ 30 years of high-level experience includes establishing and managing the Athletics & Fitness Division for International Management Group (IMG), the world’s largest sports marketing and management firm, as well as developing and managing numerous sports, fitness and wellness promotions and strategic alliances for clients as diverse as Footlocker, Dunkin Donuts, Levi Strauss, Reebok and many others.
An attorney with a diverse legal background, Mearns began his career coaching track and cross country at NCAA powerhouses University of Virginiaand University of Kentucky, before practicing corporate law in Cleveland for international firm Jones Day.
