NEW YORK, NY-Golf World has announced its “College Players of the Week” for the period between March 30 and April 5. The feature will appear in the April 13th issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfworld.com.
This week’s honorees are senior Janne Kaske of Augusta State and sophomore Megan McChrystal of LSU. Kaske’s final-round 65, combined with a pair of 67s, earned him medalist honors at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in South Carolina and gave the Jaguars their first win since 2005. He then had a T-3 finish that helped the Jaguars claim the team title at the Administaff ASU Invitational. The Finland native has a 72.44 average this season.
Four birdies over her final nine holes gave McChrystal a closing 69 to claim medalist honors by two strokes at the Bryan National Collegiate in Brown Summit, N.C. Her one-under 215 at Bryan Park’s Champions Course also helped lift the Tigers to the team title. McChrystal became the seventh golfer in school history to record more than one individual win in her career, having won the LSU Classic earlier this spring.
Golf World’s “College Players of the Week” section highlights a male and a female who have demonstrated outstanding individual play during a seven day period.
