UCLA Retains Top Spot in D-I Poll
NEW YORK, NY-The third Golf World/NGCA Division I Coaches’ Poll of the spring season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). The complete results, including results from Divisions II and III, will appear in the April 13 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfworld.com.
UCLA remains the top team in the Division I poll, earning 18 of the 26 first-place votes. The Bruins have five wins and seven top-five finishes this season.
Rounding out the top-five are Arizona State (No. 2), Southern California (No. 3), Oklahoma State (No. 4) and Virginia (No. 5). Arizona State earned the remaining eight first-place votes.
Purdue (No. 8) cracked the top-10, after being ranked 12th in the previous coaches’ poll. The Boilermakers won the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and finished second this past weekend at the Ping/ASU Invitational.
San Jose State (No. 20) and Ohio State (No. 25) moved into the top-25.
