Creates Entirely New Revenue Stream for Facilities of All Sizes
(ATLANTA, GA) – Continuing its philosophy of offering products that make real practice more affordable and accessible, National Golf Products (NGP) announces The Radar Rental Program, an initiative providing consumers the opportunity to rent its portable distance management systems for use during driving range practice sessions.
Creating an entirely new revenue stream for facilities of all sizes, The Radar units can be rented by players when they purchase range balls, providing instant and truly accurate feedback on shots from 10 to 400 yards. The devices can also be used during instruction and as a fun, easy way to enhance long-drive and other contests during corporate tournaments or outings.
“PGA Tour players consistently refer to distance management as the most important and overlooked aspect of better scoring,” says Jon Leven, CEO of NGP. “With a minimal investment in as few as three Radar units, courses and ranges can discover a totally new way to make money while offering customers a distinctive experience and proven game improvement tool.”
To enhance on-site awareness of the rental program, NGP provides its partners with eye-catching point-of-purchase displays explaining the benefits of The Radar. Facilities are encouraged to select the rental price that best suits their market.
The first truly portable and affordable ball flight monitor, The Radar features Doppler technology and offers instantaneous ball velocity and carry distance readings. Using 12 calibrated “bands” to correspond with club selection, it takes 100,000 measurements from the moment of ball impact.

About National Golf Products
The only company completely dedicated to providing golfers worldwide with a suite of products that makes real practice fun, affordable and productive, NGP was founded in 2007 by Leven and company President Joseph Switzer. Drawing from extensive and successful entrepreneurial backgrounds, the pair initially introduced THE Golf Mat in 2007. An enhanced version of the Radar was introduced in early 2009.
Utilizing a patented, high-tech composite spring embedded below fairway-length turf to encourage a proper “down and through” swing motion, THE Golf Mat quickly became the standard for players seeking a “true grass” alternative. In addition to mitigating the likelihood of wrist, elbow and other common injuries, it helps players lower scores by facilitating the proper trajectory and ball control.
Recently selected as the “preferred practice surface” of The PGA Learning Center, PGA Golf Club, PGA Country Club and Valhalla Golf Club, THE Golf Mat is affordable and features a life-span far exceeding that of traditional mats. It has been installed in scores of prestigious facilities nationwide including: Ansley Golf Club at Settindown Creek (GA), Black Diamond Ranch (FL), Cog Hill Golf & Country Club (IL), Coyote Ridge Golf Club (TX), Doral Golf Resort and Spa (FL), Harvey Penick Golf Academy (TX), Muirfield Village Golf Club (OH), Reynolds Plantation (GA) and the University of Notre Dame (IN).
