TINLEY PARK, Illinois (April 14, 2009) – Bettinardi Golf congratulates the 2009 Masters Champion, who prevailed in a two-hole sudden death playoff while wearing a high-fashion stainless steel buckle and belt manufactured in Bettinardi’s high-tech milling facility in suburban Chicago.
The international champion has been wearing the buckle and belt for several months since Bob Bettinardi, CEO and president of Bettinardi Golf, presented it to him at a PGA Tour event. The custom-made buckle is engraved with the player’s initials.
“We’re very excited that the 73rd champion of such a prestigious tournament liked the Bettinardi Buckle & Belt so much that he wore it all four days of the competition,” Bettinardi said. “We don’t claim that the buckle helped him win the tournament but we do think it helped him look good doing it.”
A number of other players in the field also wore the Bettinardi Buckle & Belt combination as they toured Augusta National, including Chicago area native and second-year PGA Tour player Kevin Streelman. Another international star wore the logo of Spanish soccer team Real Madrid engraved on his Bettinardi Buckle & Belt.
Bettinardi is world-renowned for his top-of-the-line milled putters, which pros have used to win more than 40 events worldwide, including the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. Bettinardi’s custom putter manufacturing business dates to 1991
In 2007, Bettinardi began milling high-end belt buckles to complement his putters. Milled from doubleaged stainless steel, the buckles immediately proved to be a hit among PGA Tour professionals, college golfers, and amateurs, many of whom ordered custom buckles.
Subsequently, a number of college golf teams have had their university logos engraved on their buckles. College bookstores have been ordering them for purchase by students, alumni, and other supporters. The Bettinardi buckles also have proven popular with some of the nation’s more exclusive country clubs and resorts, which have ordered buckles engraved with their club logos.
“The high quality of the buckle and belt along with our custom engraving process have helped make the buckles and belts extremely popular,” Bettinardi said. “The key is being able to personalize the buckle in some way for every customer.”
Bettinardi Golf began in 1998 and has grown to more than 50 employees, who design, craft, and fit onepiece putters as well as stainless steel buckles and belts for a worldwide customer base.
