CHAMP® Challenges Golfers at Every Level to Support Pink on the Links 2009.

Marlborough, MA – CHAMP®, the company known for being the leader in innovative traction technology, believes there is a need to give back, a need to support others when possible and to stand out when necessary. For the third year, CHAMP announces the popular Pink on the Links™ Breast Cancer Awareness Program.

CHAMP created Pink on the Links™ in 2007 as a way to raise funds for breast cancer research and honor mothers the world over. The #1 Brand on tour, announced that for every professional golfer who wore the commemorative pink and white popular Stinger spikes during Mother’s Day weekend tournaments would donate a portion of money to breast cancer research.

The reaction from professional golfer’s world wide was impressionable as last year the Pink on the Links Program brought close to 123 professional golfers to participate and donated over $11,000 for research. Pink on the Links is a promotion created by CHAMP to donate money and raise awareness for this deadly disease. In its third season the promotion will yet again go one step further. In addition to professional players supporting this promotion, CHAMP looks to the every day golfer for their help. For every pack of spikes bought during the month of May off partnering retailer www.golfspikes.com, a portion of the sale will also be donated to the cause.

“It has been great to see the way this promotion has grown and how the golf industry has rallied around it. PGA, European and LPGA professionals are waiting and willing to join in to help the cause. Now we are adding a new element where the every day golfer can also help make a difference.” states Harris MacNeill, President and CEO of MacNeill Engineering/CHAMP.” Research shows that players of all levels should change their spikes on average two times a playing season. We think it’s the perfect opportunity to not only tune up for the season but to also donate money to a cause dedicated to bringing about positive change in people’s lives.”

“We expect 2009 to be another great year for our Pink on the Links Promotion in raising awareness. Although we know many people are feeling the strain of the economic situation, we hope they will realize purchasing new spikes will help us reach our goals for this worthy charity. We know we will have the professional athletes support. We ask the PGA Professionals to spread the word to their member and direct them to the www.golfspikes.com site and we hope that other retailers will see that this is a great way to give back and join us for our future Pink on the Links”.
