HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (April 27, 2009) – Cleveland Golf/Srixon congratulates Cleveland Golf staffer Jerry Kelly on his victory at the 2009 Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Kelly shot 1-under in Sunday’s final round to clinch the victory with a total score of 14-under 274. It was the 42-year-old Wisconsin player’s first PGA TOUR win since he won two events back in 2002.
“It’s been a long time,” said Kelly. “But I’m putting better than I ever have and when you are making putts, it makes winning a whole lot easier.”
Kelly played with a Cleveland Launcher driver (7.5), a HiBORE XLS hybrid (1i), CG7 Tour irons (3-9), 588 wedges (47, 53, 60) and a Cleveland Classic putter (#3), which retails for $69.
The victory earned Kelly $1,134,000 and moved him to No. 14 on the PGA TOUR money list and up to No. 17 in the 2009 FedExCup standings.
At the 2009 South Georgia Classic, Srixon staffer Garth Mulroy shot a final round 3-under 69 to secure his first win on the Nationwide Tour. Mulroy plays the Srixon Z-STAR ball, Srixon I 701 irons (4-PW) and Cleveland CG14 wedges (54, 60). The $112, 500 paycheck from the victory propelled Mulroy into second place on the 2009 Nationwide Tour money list.
