HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (May 1, 2009) – Srixon golf balls have continued to garner worldwide recognition through their rapid rise in popularity, both with consumers and professional golfers alike. According to the latest Golf Datatech (March 2009), the total ON/OFF-Course market share for Srixon balls has climbed to a record 4.1%, with the OFF-Course market share also rising to a record high of 5.6%, within the U.S. market. These latest Srixon market share figures, within the golf ball category, show a growth of approximately double the market share of March 2008. Additionally, according to the latest Darrell-Survey, Srixon balls finished 3rd in the ball count at the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans, as well as the Nationwide Tour’s South Georgia Classic, with a total of 28 players using Srixon balls.

“The new Z-STAR and Z-STAR X are phenomenal golf balls that are helping Srixon pave its way toward being recognized as a premier golf ball manufacturer”, said Greg Hopkins, President/CEO of Cleveland Golf/Srixon. “Doubling our U.S. market share in less than a year is not only a tremendous accomplishment, but proof positive that players everywhere are realizing Srixon really is a better ball.”

Srixon’s latest Z-STAR balls are currently being played by PGA TOUR professionals Vijay Singh, Jim Furyk, Steve Flesch and John Rollins, as well as a rapidly growing contingent of professional golfers worldwide. Tour victories for the Z-STAR ball line include Henrik Stenson’s victories at the 2008 Nedbank Golf Challenge and the 2008 Omega Mission Hills World Cup, Tim Clark’s win at the 2008 Australian Open, as well as Garth Mulroy’s victory at last week’s South Georgia Classic.
