The shot heard round the golf course was scored on Sunday April 19th, 2009 by Golf Professional Perry Green, PGA using the Dixon Earth ball.
Green is the Director of Instruction at The Club at Wescott Plantation, one of the original Dixon Earth customers in the low country of South Carolina located in North Charleston. Green was playing ‘away’ this past Sunday at Miller Country Club in Summerville, SC when the 210 yard 6th hole became the sight of record for this hole-in-one. His round of 68 with the Earth ball, as well as his ace, was witnessed by JJ Messervy, Taylor Summers and Justin Acree.
Green said of his ace and the after effect, “I won $34.00 for the skin and $45.00 with my team best ball and paid out around 60.00 in drinks. I intend to play the Earth ball in all Carolinas PGA section events I play in this year.”
