St. Joe-Owned Courses Along Emerald Coast Ranked Among Florida’s Top Golf Courses
(WATERSOUND, Fla.) – Shark’s Tooth and Camp Creek — award-winning Greg Norman and Tom Fazio designs located along Northwest Florida’s stunning Emerald Coast – are ranked eighth and 19th, respectively, in Golf Digest’s “Best in State Rankings” for Florida in the 2009-2010 edition of “The World’s Greatest Golf.”
The Golf Digest rankings were determined by more than 900 panelists nationwide who played and rated thousands of courses on seven criteria: Shot Values, Resistance to Scoring, Design Variety, Memorability, Aesthetics, Conditioning and Ambience. After panelists filed their evaluations, the magazine averaged the scores of the categories, with Shot Values counting double, and totaled the averages to determine the overall standings.
Golf Digest’s “Best in State” rankings include both public and private facilities, and the magazine’s “World’s Greatest Golf” compendium is one of the most comprehensive collection of rankings in the golf industry. Storied Florida courses topping the list along with Shark’s Tooth and Camp Creek include Seminole, TPC Sawgrass (Players Stadium), Black Diamond (Quarry), Calusa Pines, The Concession, Jupiter Hills and John’s Island West.
Camp Creek and Shark’s Tooth, along with the Davis Love III-designed Origins Course, form the “golf collection” of the WaterColor Inn and Resort. Camp Creek and Origins are currently available for play by resort guests and the general public; Shark’s Tooth is a private, member-facility with select tee times available to resort guests.
“It is an honor that both Shark’s Tooth and Camp Creek are ranked among the best in state by Golf Digest, one of the most respected names in golf course ratings,” says Stephen Hilliard, Vice President of Resort and Club Operations for The St. Joe Company. “This accolade is a testament to the service levels, strategic design, playability and conditioning of the golf courses.”

About Shark’s Tooth
Designed by Greg Norman and voted the second best new private course by Golf Digest in 2002, Shark’s Tooth Golf Club was purchased by The St. Joe Company to bolster its high-end, golf course holdings.
