Aggies Defend Title, Claim Third Conference Championship in Four Years

The Aggies carded a three-round total of 870 to win by one stroke over Fresno State and claim their third WAC title in four year years. Playing at Rio Secco Golf Club in Henderson, Nevada, New Mexico State senior Travis Reid also won the individual title after shooting a three-under par 69 in the final round to finish with a seven-under total of 209.
“It was a fight to the end with us and Fresno State,” said Scott Lieberwith, Aggies’ Head Coach. “They are a great team and it was a battle. I’m really happy and proud of the way we hung in and competed.”
At Wolf Run Golf Club in Reno, Nevada, the San Jose State women’s team finished 19 strokes ahead of Idaho with a three-round total of 870. Spartans’ senior Erica Mostan won the individual title with a two-under-par 214.
