Pinehurst, NC – May 1, 2009 – GolfNet, the second largest provider of USGA Handicap Index® computation and golf tournament software, announced today that it has been awarded a multi-year contract extension from the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA) to provide service to their member clubs.

GolfNet, founded in 1983, has been providing handicapping and tournament management software to the member clubs of state and regional Golf Associations for over 20 years. GolfNet’s current client list includes state and regional Golf Associations in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wisconsin in the United States, as well as providing service to the Royal Canadian Golf Association and the Golf Association of Ontario in Canada, making it the second largest handicapping vendor in North America.
The Carolinas Golf Association, founded in 1909, is one of the largest amateur Golf Associations in the country, with almost 700 member clubs and over 170,000 golfers being provided USGA Handicap Indexes®. The South Carolina Golf Association, founded in 1929, encompasses 270 members clubs with over 66,000 golfers. Jointly they administer the “Handicap Program of the Carolinas”, with participation from the Women’s South Carolina Golf Association.
