CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (May 7, 2009) — Golf Convergence, Inc., the golf industry leader in creative strategy, has added another successful corporate transaction to its profile by orchestrating the Golf 21st Century, LLC, acquisition of assets from golf software pioneers GolfNet and Golf Intelligence.
Golf Convergence conceived the transition involving the two major innovators in golf consumer technology, which perfectly complements Golf 21st Century’s rapidly growing golf software product line. The assets of GolfNet and Golf Intelligence included long-term contracts with eight state golf associations and the Royal Canadian Association of Canada, for which Golf 21st Century will operate tee sheet management, tournament scoring and USGA handicap software. GolfNet’s software is used by more than 1,000,000 golfers.
Golf 21st Century is primarily owned by Jim St racka. Stracka also owns The Stracka Design Company which operates Stracka.com, GolfQ.com, and StrackaLine.com. Stracka.com is a portal of more than 100,000 tech-savvy golfers seeking an interactive social networking golf community. GolfQ.com is home to more than 200,000 golfers that get exclusive golf discounts, get to play in GolfQ tournaments and events, as well as creating a place where they can maintain their USGA handicap and track their individual statistics. StrackaLine.com is a site that sells professional yardage books that are used by PGA tour players.
“Combining these emerging firms of golf consumer technology was an ideal alliance,” said James J. Keegan, managing principal of Golf Convergence. “There is dynamic leadership in place, so our focus was to maximize that strength and leverage their impressive backgrounds in technology to assure the continued growth of Golf 21st Century with its visionary leader Jim Stracka.”
