PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (May 11, 2009) – The award-winning GolfTalk Live radio show, hosted by Tony Leodora, has begun a special season-long promotion, highlighting Stay and Play opportunities in the Atlantic City and South Jersey area.
The promotion is driven by the sponsorship of the Atlantic City Sheraton, the leading business and vacation hotel in the area, which now is promoting its Stay & Play golf packages.
“With our location, directly across the street from The Walk, the famed outlet store shopping section in Atlantic City, and right down the street from the casinos and the boardwalk, we are a natural for Stay and Play golf packages,” explained Sheraton general manager Danny Williams. “There is so much great golf in the immediate area, plus non-golfers in the family have so much to do within walking distance.”
The Sheraton, which has hosted a number of live remote broadcasts in the past, will host another in the fall – on October 10. Throughout the rest of the season, five Atlantic City area courses will host live remote broadcasts.
Blue Heron Pines, the first of the upscale daily fee courses to be built in the Atlantic City explosion of golf during the ’90s, also was the first to host a live remote during this promotional series. It hosted a show April 25.
Twisted Dune, the Scottish-style course in Egg Harbor Township, will host a show on May 30.
Fourth of July weekend, the official start of the Jersey Shore beach season, will see a festive live remote broadcast hosted at Mays Landing Golf and CC on July 4.
Brigantine GC, the closest golf course to the Sheraton and the casinos, will host a live remote broadcast on July 18.
The final course to host a live remote broadcast will be Atlantic City CC on October 3. This will be part of a big golf weekend at the shore, as the finals of the GolfTalk Live Invitational tournament will take place at Atlantic City CC on Monday, October 5.
GolfTalk Live, which airs 52 weeks a year from 7 to 8 a.m. each Saturday on WNTP 990-AM and on www.wntp.com, is an interview-driven golf show that has grabbed national attention. At the PGA Merchandise Show in 2008, GolfTalk Live was voted America’s Best Golf Radio Show by the prestigious International Network of Golf.
