Florida courses to host World Golfers qualifying

Anders Bengtson, President of World Golfers USA, announced that two Florida clubs will hold quaifying events for the World Golfers Championship.

The President Country Club in West Palm Beach, FL will host a qualifier June 7 on its Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed Eagle course while the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL will host a qualifier June 13 on its El Campeon course.

The winners from five handicap categories (0-5, 6-10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-25) will earn spots in the United States finals, scheduled Sept. 12-13 at Mission Inn.

The winners there earn spots in the World Golfers Championship, scheduled Oct. 24-31 at the Marbella Golf Resort in Spain.

Bengtson also reminded other clubs wishing to send teams to the U.S. finals that the deadline for qualifying events would be Aug.24. The entry fee is $600. Call 561 313-9083 to sign up.
