McHenry, Illinois (May 13, 2009) – The Putting Game, an entertaining game and powerful training aid all in one, has added a new skills challenge sure to have golfers playing for hours! Golfers will need accuracy and speed control if they want to “Stack Up”.
Offering numerous games and putting challenges, The Putting Game debuted at the PGA Merchandise Show in January 2009 with rave reviews. The training aid is different than others because it uses a “virtual cup” (not a physical cup) and is “Stimp aware” to provide feedback on putt distance.
At January’s PGA Merchandise Show attendees had a chance to play The Putting Game’s “500” an accuracy challenge where golfers must putt as close to the center target as possible while trying to achieve a perfect score of 500.
“While the 5 games originally introduced on the device were a big hit with our focus groups and covered all the directional and distance control bases, we decided to take it a step further,” said Fred Knecht, Director of Sales & Marketing. “Stack Up is the sixth game on The Putting Game, and it is very similar to the 5th game VC500, where directional accuracy and distance control is needed to score well.”
In VC500, before you start, you select a fixed putt length (5′ to 32′) and then roll 5 putts that distance to score. In the new Stack Up game, the device selects 5 different distances, one for each of the 5 putts. This mixes things up for the golfer and forces him or her to putt a wide range of distances in one game.
“Stack up simulates a drill that pros have done for years – a drill that forces you to think about, feel, and familiarize yourself with stroke length and swing speed for various length putts,” said Knecht.
In “Stack Up”, the first putt is a 5 footer, the second putt is 10 feet, the third is a 15 footer, the fourth is 20 feet, and the fifth and final putt is a 25 footer. The goal is to roll five putts and score the highest score possible.
Putts are graded on a scale of 0 to 100, based on directional accuracy and distance control; the closer a golfer gets to the virtual cup on each putt, the better he or she will score.
“Stack Up puts all your putting skills to the test. You need to maintain good directional accuracy over a wide range of putting speeds in order score well in this game” said Knecht.
Other games are The Shrinking Hole another game of accuracy; Knockout which is a inside left, center cup, inside right drill used by many pros, and a “virtual putting green mode” where golfers can (in any size room) perfect directional accuracy and speed control on simulated putts up to 32 feet in length.
Other features of The Putting Game include convenient foot switches for power on; game selection & reset; a unique bounce-beam design which conveniently returns the ball to you; and operates on (two “C” size batteries) or AC adapter.
