(Pickering, Ont. May 14, 2009) – SkyCaddie is set to help navigate amateurs around TPC Sawgrass later this year as the 2nd Annual Ontario PGA Pro Am returns to Florida. 18 Canadian PGA Professionals from Ontario as well as 54 amateurs will try and keep their golf balls dry as they attempt to make par or better at the world famous 17th hole.
“All of the participants in last year’s pro am had a great time,” said Chris Miranda. “Now with SkyCaddie on board this event is sure to make a splash, no pun intended.”
The Ontario PGA Pro AM will take place beginning November 25, 2009 with check in at the Marriot Sawgrass. The first official practice round will be on the 26th with the first official round coming on the 27th. Professionals and Amateurs will play at The World Golf Village on the Slammer & Squire Course on Day 1 and the King & Bear Course on Day 2. Day 3 will see the participants try their luck on the Stadium Course at Sawgrass while the final day they will tackle the Valley course.
“We are very happy to extend our relationship from the Canadian PGA to the provincials zones,” said Steve Davies of Jancor Agencies the Canadian distributor of SkyCaddie. “This partnership gives us great exposure to both Professionals and amateurs and we are excited about the possibilities moving forward.”
The SkyCaddie / Merit Golf Vacations Ontario PGA Pro Am began last year at PGA National in West Palm Beach, Florida. Michael Farrugia’s team was victorious over David Banks team by three shots earning him $2400 for his first Ontario PGA victory.
