BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Golf Academy of America is proud to congratulate J.J. Holen of Castaic, Calif., and Bethany Wu of Diamond Bar, Calif., for their recent division wins at the Preseason Junior at Oak Valley tournament, part of the Golf Academy of America Preseason Junior Series. Holen fired a 67-77-144 total to take medalist honors in the Boys Division, and Wu carded a 69-70-139, to run away from the pack in the Girls Division.
Conducted by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), the Preseason Junior at Oak Valley was a 36-hole stroke-play event held at Oak Valley Golf Club in Beaumont, Calif. The tournament field consisted of 72 boys and 24 girls, ages 12-18, from nine states and Canada. The Boys Division played the par-72 course at 6,909 yards, while the Girls Division played at 5,892 yards.

The Golf World Preseason Junior at Oak Valley was one of eight events being held as part of Golf Academy of America Preseason Junior Series. The Series is designed specifically for first-time AJGA members or those members who have not yet been accepted to or participated in an AJGA event in the current calendar year and/or the previous calendar year.
The AJGA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the overall growth and development of young men and women who aspire to earn college golf scholarships through competitive junior golf. The largest Association of its kind, the AJGA has a junior membership (boys and girls ages 12-18) of approximately 5,000 junior golfers from 50 states and 30 foreign countries.
