(VIENNA, VA) – Billy Casper Golf (“BCG”) – owner and operator of golf courses in 25 states – has promoted Travis Kane to Regional Manager overseeing the Chicago Park District’s (“CPD”) six golf courses and three driving ranges.
In his new role, Kane – a member of the PGA of America – is supervising all activities at Jackson Park, Sydney R. Marovitz, South Shore, Robert A. Black, Columbus Park, Marquette Park and Diversey Driving Range.
A fast riser in his seven-plus years with BCG, Kane was named the company’s 2008 General Manager of the Year for his work at Sumner Meadows Golf Links in Washington state. There, he achieved a stellar 29-percent growth in rounds, far outpacing the local market despite challenging economic conditions. He began his BCG tenure as an Assistant Golf Professional at Tri-Mountain Golf Course, also in Washington state.
“Travis exudes all the qualities Billy Casper Golf looks for in leaders,” says Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of BCG. “We take great care attracting and retaining high-quality talent and promoting from within; Travis’ tremendous enthusiasm is already benefiting Chicagoland golfers.”
In January, BCG was selected by CPD, the City’s parks and recreation arm, to manage its golf facilities. The company has committed $5.5 million over 15 years to an aggressive property-enhancement program at the six courses, three driving ranges and learning centers, and two miniature golf courses. This includes work on course tees, fairways and greens; detailed attention to turf maintenance; and upgrades to buildings and facades.
BCG turnkeys all aspects of golf course and property maintenance, staffing and training, clubhouse operations, golf instruction, marketing and public relations, special events and financial management.
