Industry Veteran, ‘Most-Admired Operator’ to Oversee Operations at 36-Hole, World-Class Golf Resort Set Against the Dramatic Cliffs of the Pacific Ocean
(HALF MOON BAY, Calif.) – Half Moon Bay Golf Links, the world-class, 36-hole golf resort set against the dramatic cliffs of the Pacific Ocean and just minutes from San Francisco and San Jose, today announces that Bill Troyanoski has been named general manager.
An industry veteran with more than 20 years experience in operations and club management, Troyanoski will oversee operations at Half Moon Bay Golf Links’ two award-winning, 18-hole courses: The Old Course, an American parkland style layout designed by Arnold Palmer, and Ocean Course, an Arthur Hills linksland design that is nationally renown for its closing holes perched above the Pacific.
Troyanoski and his staff will implement an aggressive business plan and guest experience model that will reassert Half Moon Bay Golf Links as one of the great golf destinations of the world including: elevating and enhancing the facilities’ relationship with the onsite Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay; creating new associations with area accommodation partners and corporate and charitable organizations; and bolstering culinary programs at Mullins Bar & Grill, Half Moon Bay Golf Links’ onsite, fireside restaurant and pub.
“Bill brings an incredible amount of experience and energy to Half Moon Bay Golf Links,” says Mark Kendall, President of Kenmark, operator of Half Moon Bay Golf Links. “We’re excited by his vision for new programs and commitment to resort guests and local homeowners with an unparalleled golf experience.”
“Half Moon Bay Golf Links is one of the premier golf resorts in the world and I look forward to working with my staff to re-establish its place in the golfing pantheon,” says Troyanoski. “There are only a handful of properties in the world that can boast having a two ocean-front, 18-hole golf courses, a world-class luxury hotel on site, a full-service proshop, chef-driven restaurant with fireside dining and five-star service.”
Troyanoski comes to Half Moon Bay Golf Links from Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis, California, where he served as general manager. Under his leadership the resort’s 18-hole, Carter Morrish-designed golf course won numerous awards and accolades, and vaulted into the top tier of Golfweek and GOLF Magazine’s best in state rankings.
He entered the industry at Hershey Pocono Resort in White Haven, Pa. where we was the director of golf for 14 years. Troyanoski was a member of the resort’s executive committee, managed all fiscal operations including budgets and financial reporting, and directed the training and development of a staff of 29 and three department heads while implementing a legendary customer service program.
In 1998, Troyanoski directed the opening of Royce Brook Golf Club, a 36-hole, Steve Smyers-designed facility in Hillsborough, N.J. Under his leadership directing six department heads and 280 employees, Royce Brook developed a strong corporate member base, fostered and implemented a “Fore Caddy” program, and opened the Academy of Golf at Royce Brook.
As one of Golf Inc. Magazine’s “Most Admired Course Operators in the Nation,” Troyanoski was recognized as a top performer by his peers in every aspect of the business, including fellow operators, merchandisers, club professionals and more.
