Rio Verde, Ariz. – Rio Verde Country Club recently hosted 18 women’s collegiate golf teams from across the country during the 19th annual Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational. The three-day competition, which took place February 25-27, saw Kennesaw State University (Georgia) capture the team championship, outlasting Xavier University on the final day. Played on Rio Verde’s par-72 White Wing Course at 6,001 yards, the individual competition was won by Kennesaw State University sophomore Kaitlyn Campbell with rounds of 67-72-72.

Rio Verde Country Club members and community residents graciously volunteered their time to coordinate the event. In total, more than two dozen members and residents worked on the four-day event, which included a Thursday practice round. Golfers were served multiple meals and enjoyed near perfect golf weather with daytime temperatures in the high 60s/low 70s.
