LeaderBoard Membership Privileges Program Recognized at 2009 Excellence in Retailing Awards Dinner
(TORONTO) – Golf Town – Canada’s largest golf retailer with unequaled selection and competitive prices at 46 locations coast to coast – announces it was recognized by the Retail Council of Canada with the Retail Marketing/Advertising Award for a mid-size chain on Monday, June 1.
Presented at the annual Excellence in Retailing Awards Dinner, this distinction honours Golf Town for demonstrating a creative and successful marketing campaign that delivered quantifiable results, including increased sales, shopper loyalty, store traffic and brand awareness.
Specifically, the award highlights Golf Town’s success with the integrated campaign it launched around the Leaderboard Membership Privileges Program, Canada’s leading customer advantage initiative. Utilizing e-newsletters, in-store activities and advertising, designed by Top Drawer Creative, Inc., Golf Town directly communicated its latest products and promotions to more than 480,000 customers.
“Throughout its 10-year history, Golf Town has dedicated valuable resources to developing integrated marketing campaigns that successfully reach our core customers,” says Stephen Bebis, President and CEO. “The LeaderBoard program both upholds and enhances our brand image as a leading golf retailer, and reinforces the superior service, selection and prices we provide.”
Leaderboard membership is free, with registration taking place at Golf Town super centres or online at www.golftown.com/LeaderBoard/. Additional benefits to members include entry in monthly $500 gift card drawings, members-only special offers on equipment, accessories, golf lessons and much more.
This marks the second consecutive year Golf Town has been recognized in the RCC’s annual awards. In 2008, Bebis was inducted into the industry’s Hall of Fame. Honoured for the advancement and promotion of retail as a career, he joined some of the country’s most prominent executives, including George Heller of HBC, Steve Matyas of Staples Business Depot, Mario Pilozzi of Wal-Mart Canada, Harry Rosen of Harry Rosen Inc. and William Turner of Sears Canada.
Golf Town offers an unbeatable selection of clubs, bags, balls, apparel, footwear, accessories, gifts, logo merchandise, promotional services and more. This includes the world’s leading golf brands, such as Adams, Ashworth, Bridgestone, Callaway Golf, Cleveland Golf, Cobra, Dunning, ECCO, FootJoy, Founders Club, Gordon Cooper, Greg Norman, Honma, Hugo Boss, LaCoste, Liz Claiborne, LIJA, Mizuno, Never Compromise, Nike Golf, Odyssey, Ogio, Paradise, Ping, Srixon, Sun Mountain, TaylorMade adidas Golf, Titleist and Wilson.
