A Dollar for Dads program debuts over Father’s Day weekend
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Fourteen OB Sports-managed golf clubs (listed below) are participating in the A Dollar for Dads fundraising drive taking place on Father’s Day weekend Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21, 2009. The participating clubs will add one dollar to their normal green fees (and/or collect additional donations). That extra dollar will directly support research leading to treatments and a cure for prostate cancer.
“The fact that prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer in America should get everyone’s attention. But too many families are still being devastated by this disease,” said Phil Green, President of OB Sports Golf Management. “So we’re trying to raise awareness among all the dads out there while supporting the many organizations already working hard on a cure.”
Participating Clubs:
Arizona: Eagle Mountain Golf Club in Fountain Hills; Longbow Golf Club in Mesa and We-Ko-Pa Golf Club in Fort McDowell.
California: Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita.
Florida: Hunter’s Creek Golf Club in Orlando.
Mississippi: The Oaks Golf Club in Biloxi.
New Mexico: Sandia Golf Club in Albuquerque
Nevada: Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas; The Legacy Golf Club in Henderson and Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas.
Oregon: Centennial Golf Club and Quail Point Golf Club both in Medford and Tetherow in Bend. Texas: High Meadow Ranch in Magnolia.
