PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – A first-place prize among the largest of any PGA Section event is the cornerstone of a new golf tournament exclusively for PGA Professionals at the 2009 PGA Fall Expo. The PGA Fall Expo $25,000 Pro Challenge will feature a first place prize of $10,000, second place prize of $3,000, and third place prize of $1,000 with pay out to 50% of the field (based on a 100-team field). The new tournament will be staged simultaneously to the PGA Fall Expo Amateur Shoot-Out (formerly the PGA Fall Expo Golf Outing and Product Testing event) on August 31 at the award-winning Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort.
Two-person PGA Professional teams will have the opportunity to compete in a four-ball stroke play tournament on Paiute’s Wolf golf course, the longest course in Nevada at 7,604 yards and a multiple winner of Golfweek’s Best Public-Access Courses in America. The $25,000 purse and 50% pay out is based on 100 PGA Professional teams. Registration is now open for the 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. starting times at www.pgaexpo.com.
While the PGA Fall Expo $25,000 Pro Challenge is open exclusively to PGA Professionals, amateurs can compete in the PGA Fall Expo Amateur Shoot-Out featuring two shot-gun scramble events for four-person amateur teams. Both events award the first place teams a prize of $1,000 worth of merchandise credits to use at the PGA Fall Expo. The second place teams will receive a $500 merchandise credit and the third place teams a $400 merchandise credit. In addition, there will be more than $5,000 worth of PGA Fall Expo merchandise credits offered through various events during the tournament and coinciding with Outdoor Demo Day activities. The PGA Fall Expo Amateur Shoot-Out will be contested on the award-winning SunMountain golf course at Paiute. Simultaneous to the PGA Professional and amateur tournaments, the popular PGA Fall Expo Outdoor Demo Day returns for the fourth year on Paiute’s driving range, short game area and putting green. Product demonstrations and networking takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and features more than 40 golf vendors unveiling the latest golf equipment, training aids and accessories for attending industry professionals to personally test the day before the opening of the PGA Fall Expo, Sept. 1-2, at MandalayBay Convention Center. PGA Professionals receive 4 MSR Credits for participation in the Outdoor Demo Day.
The PGA Fall Expo is packing unprecedented value into the 2009 event with exciting Show Specials and new products from some 300 golf vendors; some 20 education and professional development seminars offered on the show floor at NO cost; a completely redesigned show floor focusing on buyer interaction, education and networking; plus, lower costs across all participation levels.
PGA Professionals may receive up to 20 MSR credits for their participation in PGA Fall Expo events.
