NEW BEDFORD, Mass., June 15, 2009 – AHEAD has generously donated 180 pink hats to the Nationwide Tour’s Fort Smith Ark. Classic this week for its “Pink on the Links” program. The players, caddies and fans are encouraged to wear pink during the second round on Friday, June 19, to raise awareness for breast cancer and to support the Ozark Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure.
“We are more than happy to support the Pink on the Links program and help raise awareness of this life-threatening disease,” said Jeff Waller, national sales director. “It is a disease that has touched all of our lives in one way or another and AHEAD is pleased to be part of the day.”
The AHEAD pink caps that the players and caddies will be wearing have the PGA Tour’s “Together, Anything’s Possible” charity logo on the front. The caps will also be sold on site with a portion of the proceeds going to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure.
The Fort Smith Classic is the only PGA Tour-sanctioned event held in Arkansas and the first Nationwide Tour event that has dedicated a day to the fight against breast cancer. The “Pink on the Links” program is a full day of education and activities on the course that will appeal to a wide range of women.
