THOMPSONVILLE, MICH – Crystal Mountain Golf School, ranked among the Top 25 in America by GOLF Magazine, will have a presence at the U.S. Open this week as both a pupil and instructor converge on Bethpage.

Clark Klaasen , who has worked with Crystal Mountain Director of Golf Brad Dean for three years, will be playing in his first event as a professional. He’ll no doubt get some sage advice from Dean who played his first major last year at Oakland Hills Country Club. Klaasen recently graduated from Duke University and qualified for his first major championship by earning one of the four spots up for grabs during last week’s qualifier at the NCR Club in Dayton, Ohio. He shot rounds of 68 and 66 to finish the qualifier, good enough for second place.

Meanwhile, Crystal Mountain Director of Junior Instruction and Development Adam Schriber will try to help Anthony Kim to his first major title. Schriber spent all last week working with the 15th ranked player in the world. Schriber has worked with Kim since he was 14 years old. In addition, Schriber’s roster of professionals includes Morgan Pressel, Candie Kung and Amy Hung of the LPGA Tour.

Celebrating over 50 years, Crystal is a family-owned, four-season resort with 36 holes of championship golf, one of GOLF Magazine’s Top 25 Golf Schools in America, one-acre outdoor water playground, the Crystal Coaster Michigan’s only alpine slide, lodging, dining, skiing, IACC-approved conference facilities and Crystal Spa.
