CHICAGO, IL, June 18th, 2009: Shooting a record-matching low of 63 on the final day of play during the Knoxville Open, the runner-up from New Zealand used the Oban Tour Prototype V430 in his driver and Oban Devotion in his fairway wood. Ranked 6th and 7th respectively in driving accuracy and distance, the Oban Tour Prototype V430 helped secure a spot in a sudden death playoff. Eventually, a birdie on the 2nd hole of the playoffs earned the runner-up spot.
“This week’s runner-up proved the Tour Prototype V430 and Devotion shafts’ superior performance. His driving distance and accuracy statistics support this claim.” said Josh Shook, Director of the PGA Tour for Oban Composites. “The innovative design and use of high modulus materials make the Oban Tour Prototype V430 and the Oban Devotion prominent leading shafts in the golf industry.”
