Maine Woman Wins 6-Day, 5-Night Trip to Alluring Alberta; Features 135 Golf Holes and Acclaimed Resorts Nestled in an Unspoiled Mountain Setting
(ALBERTA, Canada) – Canadian Rockies Golf (CRG) – a collection of six acclaimed golf-and-resort properties offering an elevated lifestyle experience – announces Donna Mundy of Cape Elizabeth, Maine is the winner of the inaugural CRG trip giveaway, a 6-day, 5-night vacation.
Mundy won the trip for four, which includes golf at all six properties, accommodations, and rental cars, by merely signing up to receive the free e-newsletter from the CRG. The trip has an estimated value of more than $5,000.
People were automatically enrolled in the drawing after registering for the e-newsletter at www.canadianrockiesgolf.ca. A second winner will be chosen Oct. 30 from the active e-newsletter subscribers at that time.
The six CRG properties are Stewart Creek Golf and Country Club, Kananaskis Country Golf Course, Canmore Golf & Curling Club, Silvertip Resort, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, and The Fairmont Banff Springs. They operate under the telling tagline “Canadian Rockies Golf: Historic. Dramatic. Untamed.” which evocatively reflects the area’s attributes, activities and resort lifestyle amenities.
“I had been researching trips to the Canadian Rockies for several months because of its reputation for amazing scenery and exceptional golf courses,” says Mundy. “So I was stunned to win the trip – especially with no strings attached. All we have to do is purchase our airline tickets and show up – it’s a dream come true.”
Members of Purpoodock Golf Club in Maine, the 60-year old Mundy and her husband Jim are lifelong residents of the Pine Tree State. After her retirement five years ago as a Senior Vice President from an insurance company, Mundy became hooked on the sport while her husband – a former history professor – is an avid golfer who has played Pebble Beach.
“We are excited to host the Mundys,” says K. Gordon Schultz, CRG Spokesperson. “First-time visitors to the region are always amazed by the great golf, idyllic summer weather and unfathomable beauty of the snow-capped mountains which surround the courses and resorts.”
Three of the CRG courses were recently honored by Golf Digest magazine as “Top 20 Courses to Play in Canada,” which is indicative of the quality of the CRG member courses.
Canadian Rockies Golf is defined by a mix of alluring classical- and alpine-style routings which complement one another and enhance golfers’ experiences. The proximity of these properties to one another and the wealth of resort and lifestyle options – accessible by Calgary and Edmonton airports, from international and commercial to regional and private – allows visitors to conveniently come and go.
Combine the breathtaking scenery and summer daylight as late as 11:00 p.m. and golfers can play to their heart’s delight and still have time for family and the region’s many other activities. These include award- winning spas, helicopter tours, hiking, fishing, rafting, gourmet restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, horseback riding, and many children’s programs.
