ZAGAT Survey Rates Wolf Creek Golf Club as Excellent
Las Vegas golf region course Wolf Creek Golf Club has earned 28 points out of 30 in the recently released sixth edition of ZAGAT’s America’s Best Golf Courses survey. Wolf Creek Golf Club was one of 50 golf courses in the survey to receive 28 points or higher in the course category, and was tied at 28 with such exceptional golf courses as Sea Pines in Harbour Town, South Carolina, Troon North in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Las Vegas golf course gem Cascata. And Wolf Creek was ranked ahead of Las Vegas golf course Wynn Las Vegas and Doral’s Blue Monster in Florida. Wolf Creek Golf Club is located in Mesquite, about 77 miles north of Las Vegas.

PGA Tour Golf Host Justin Timberlake ‘Wins’ Golf Digest US Open Challenge
Last year, Justin Timberlake, host of Las Vegas’ PGA Tour golf event, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, fired a 98 at Torrey Pines, last year’s US Open course, but finished strong to break 100. This year, Timberlake was the only returning golfer in the foursome of the Golf Digest US Open Challenge, an event that pits three celebrities and an amateur contest winner against that year’s US Open golf course in an attempt to break 100. Timberlake again finished strong, but this time beat his goal of breaking 90–in essence, winning–by recording an 88, according to the official report from the USGA. Las Vegas’ Butch Harmon on the Golf Job at US Open
As has been well chronicled in the past, the busiest person at major golf championships just might be Las Vegas’ own Butch Harmon, who operates the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas golf course Rio Secco Golf Club. He bounces around the range tending to the pros he works with, fulfills media requests, and does announcing work for Sky TV. Last year at Torrey Pines for the US Open, within a half-an-hour he bounced between talks with Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott, and Las Vegas resident Nick Watney, keeping his cool and making a difference for all just minutes before they teed off. This year at the US Open at Bethpage Black in New York is no different.
