Brian O’Driscoll WINS THE 2018 OMEGA CELEBRITY MASTERS
Bringing golf and glamour to the mountains of Switzerland, the second “OMEGA Celebrity Masters” took place this Saturday with a special victory for former rugby player Brian O’Driscoll.
The tournament swung into action during the afternoon on the main course in Crans-Montana, after the professionals in the OMEGA European Masters had played through. Amongst the other famous faces were Didier Defago (alpine ski racer), Theo Gmur (paralympian), Cody Simpson (singer), Alfonso Ribeiro (actor), Ronald de Boer (footballer), Jeremy Roenick (hockey player), Katerina Graham (actress), Brian O’Driscoll (rugby player) and Anastasia Ashley (surfer and model).
Women’s golfer, Michelle Wie, was also on hand as a “celebrity coach”, while the talented Swiss singer Bastian Baker kept up the entertainment as MC. Both of these OMEGA Ambassadors watched on as Brian O’Driscoll beat the competition to claim the final trophy.
All players competed for their own selected charities with OMEGA making donations on their behalf. Brian O’Driscoll played for the ISPCC in Ireland and, as part of his prize, the donation was doubled.
This year, the OMEGA Celebrity Masters began with 9-holes of golf for a selection of the invited players. Then, on the 9th hole, all celebrities took part in a unique putting challenge to see who could come out on top in the true test of precision. Surrounded by stunning Swiss scenery, the competition proved to be a delight for everyone watching.
Brian O’Driscoll 2018 victory follows on from last year’s team winners, Michael Phelps and Michelle Monaghan, who won the inaugural tournament.
