East-West/Body-Mind training is secret to success on the course
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Using her own East-West/Body-Mind training, Jamie Leno Zimron, “The Golf Sensei,” shaved 10 strokes off her first day total to come back and win the Senior Division of the 2009 LPGA Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) Western Section Championship held June 1-2.
Zimron started off the tourney hosted by the Lincoln Hills Golf Club, Lincoln, Calif., by shooting an 82 on the first day but came back strong on day two recording an even par 72 to win the two-day, 36-hole event with a 154 and win by one stroke.
“That first day score was just messy, but I was able to clear my mind and center myself for the second day to come out for a par round,” said Zimron. “I try to practice my own ‘KiAi Golf’ teachings and it really made all the difference out there.”
Zimron says the round also highlighted the importance of putting, as she made six one-putt birdies and five 3-putt bogeys on Lincoln Hill’s large challenging greens.
A Class A LPGA Teaching Professional and 5th Degree Aikido Black Belt, Jamie has blended her expertise in martial arts, psychology and fitness with her lifelong talent and passion for golf into a successful career – and powerful new golf instruction. Jamie is dedicated to bringing effective holistic training methods to golfers of all ages and abilities. The Golf Sensei offers people “the missing east-west, body-mind links” that underlie the success of such premier players as Tiger Woods, Annika Sorenstam, Phil Mickelson, Lorena Ochoa and others.
“Aikido and golf are a natural combination,” said Zimron. “Both consist of fluid circular motion, requiring skilled focus under pressure and clear communication between the body, mind and emotions. Golf is not ‘just a mental game’ or ‘just mechanics’ or ‘just equipment’ or ‘just better fitness.’ It’s all of the above in an integrated way. Increasing one’s self-mastery is the secret ingredient to success, the true key to playing better golf and enjoying the game more. Golfers really can lower their scores as they upgrade both their equipment and their own body-mind capabilities.”
An exciting speaker and media personality, Zimron offers leading-edge golf-and-life training programs for individuals, groups, organizations and corporate events. Ken Blanchard, author of The One-Minute Manager and co-founder of The Golf University, says of The Golf Sensei: “Golf is all about energy and Jamie is the master. Let her be your guide.”
