ORLANDO, Fla., (June 18, 2009) – Turnstile Publishing Company today announced its acquisition of Vincent Publishing, a leading producer of event programs and custom publications. The deal, which closed last Friday, will further strengthen Turnstile’s position as a leading media company for high-end, niche publications. In addition to significantly growing its existing custom publishing portfolio, this latest acquisition expands Turnstile’s overall reach, bringing the group’s total collection of titles to nearly 50.
Currently based out of Sarasota, Fla., Vincent Publishing has been a notable fixture in the custom publishing industry for more than two decades. Most recently, the small but successful company has focused on creating golf-centered publications, including event programs for numerous PGA Tour tournaments and quarterly lifestyle magazines for exclusive residential golf communities. Vincent’s high-end custom publications are an ideal match for Turnstile, whose media family includes such golf-specific titles as Golfweek, Chicago District Golfer and Arizona The State of Golf.
“We are thrilled to bring Vincent into our custom publishing group,” said Clayton Morris, president of Turnstile Publishing Company. “By adding an organization that parallels not only our company’s focus, but also reputation and commitment to quality, we are ensuring our growth and viability in this ever-changing market.”
In addition to print publications, Turnstile’s acquisition will also encompass all Vincent Publishing brand extensions, including Web sites, licensing agreements and events.
Though Turnstile’s acquisition will be effective immediately, Vincent Publishing’s existing staff – supplemented by the extensive resources of its new parent company – will continue operations from its current location through the end of 2009 before moving to Turnstile’s corporate headquarters in Orlando, Fla., in January 2010.
“This is a great opportunity for us, as there is truly a powerful synergy between our two organizations,” said Vincent Publishing President Michael Hagmann, who will now serve as publisher of Turnstile’s custom publishing division. “Joining the Turnstile family not only gives us further support in our core areas of strength, but also enables us to grow exponentially in our range, reach and capabilities.”
