APGS 2019 – History Is About To Be Written!
India will be at the forefront of the golf industry when the 2019 Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS 2019) rolls into the nation’s capital city, New Delhi.
What is widely regarded as the greatest democracy on the Planet will play host to the biggest and the best Summit on the business of golf anywhere in the world. Like any democracy, the stage is set for some of the best brains in the business of golf to speak freely and with no restraints on how the golf industry in Asia can be set on a future path of leadership and growth.
After all, India was the first place outside of Scotland where the modern game of golf was first introduced at the Royal Calcutta Golf Club in 1829. As the oldest golf club outside the British Isles, its golfing heritage makes India and the club a truly hallowed place for the game of golf.
It’s almost 200 years and since then, the game has gone on to become a major sport on the giant Asian Continent. With more than 5,000 golf clubs spread throughout the Asian landmass, Asia today is a force to be reckoned with – it boasts some of the finest golf clubs in the world; it is home to the world’s largest golf resort in Mission Hills in China; it dominates the women’s professional game with six top ranked players in the Top Ten Rolex World Golf Rankings; and it is home to some of the most powerful people in the business of golf – http://ncdn-origin.apggnews.com/ezines/AG/PowerHitter2019/index.html
Asia no longer plays second fiddle to the developed world of golf. It is a key player and it is without doubt the region that holds the future of golf in its hands as the New Millennium unravels.
Given the bright prospects on the horizon, the Asia Pacific Golf Group (APGG), the owner of APGS 2019 has picked on a very appropriate theme that truly reflects growth trends in Asia.
APGS 2019, the 13th in the annual series will be staged at the futuristic cyber-city of Gurugram which is located about 20 minutes from the New Delhi International Airport.
The theme is “5G Technology – A New Mindset”. This theme has been carefully picked as the new 5G Technology will be driving the digital and telecommunications age into the future. Asia is without a doubt the leader in the adoption and implementation of this revolutionary technology and it makes good sense for the Asian golf industry to embrace this leading-edge platform as the driving force to take the industry to the next level.
“This is the first time that the Summit is headed to the Indian Sub-Continent and we have every reason to believe that it will be amongst the best staged so far in the series,” said Mike Sebastian, chief executive officer and the owner and producer of the Summit.
More than twenty world-class speakers have been recruited to help create a platform that promises to provide a whole new vision to how Asia can use its abundant resources to give the ancient game of golf a brand-new shine.
“We have the know-how, the people, the style and the panache to make golf in Asia an experience that will be hard to match anywhere,” said Sebastian who went on to add, “…. like our hotels, airlines, universities and corporations, we are set to show the world that our golf clubs have everything it takes plus more to be the best of breed in the world!”
As APGS 2019 counts down to its staging on November 4 – 6, more details about the programme will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.
