The Best Golfers on the Gulf Coast Were In Biloxi and It Took A 3 Hole Playoff to Final Decide a Winner
Biloxi – The Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association held its prestigious “MS Gulf Coast Amateur Championship” on Sunkist’s fast champion’s greens on the Biloxi peninsula. 36 holes and it came down to a 3 hole aggregate score playoff to decide the winner. Felix Bertucci and Ben Snow went extra holes and were all tied after 2. On the third hole it looked like Ben Snow was destined to win with a great shot that nearly hit the pin and Bertucci and bounced over – a difficult shot on the fast greens.
Mr. Bertucci, 60 years old and past World Left Handed Champion, made his best chip and put the heat on the younger Ben Snow, Southern Mississippi golfer. Snow missed his birdie and Bertucci made his par but Snow missed his par and the championship was over.
“We want to thank all participants and Sunkist for a great Championship,” says Jeremy Davis, Championship Director and Assistant Professional at Grand Bear Golf Club.
