Scottie Pearman, Jeff Crittenden & Kanani Lodge Win Inaugural Jeff Crittenden’s Xtreme Long Drive™ Championships
Bryan Park Golf Club Greensboro, NC – On Saturday October 31, 2020 Jeff Crittenden kicked off the weekend by winning his Third Major Championship Belt in the Master’s Division defeating Mike Bauman with the CGI Longest Ball of the Day 338.9 to 333.2 in the finals. He bested a strong field of hitters including 4 of the Top 10 Ranked World Long Drive Masters’ competitors. Crittenden & Bauman both cruised through the double elimination brackets undefeated and were joined in the semi-finals by EJ McDonnell & former World Champion David Mobley for the head-to-head Final 4 rounds. In the first semi-final Crittenden defeated Mobley 329 to 319 followed by Bauman besting McDonnell 321 to 309. Crittenden’s Winners Share of the $9,000 purse was $4,800 with runner-up Bauman collecting $2,200 and Semi Finalist Mobley & McDonnell each collecting $800. Also cashing in a tie for 5th place were Lynn Ray and Russell Sconyers for $200 each. Crittenden also received $300 for the CGI Longest Ball Bonus.
Sunday morning after a 1 hour rain delay the Women’s Open Division took to the grid with Kanani Lodge emerging victorious in her Pro Debut defeating Jamie O’Neill in the Finals with the CGI Longest Ball of the Day 293.8 to 268. In the losers bracket final Jamie defeated Mary Driscoll 250.7 to OB set. Kanani collected $3,200 for the victory and an additional $300 for the CGI Longest Ball Bonus.
Sunday afternoon saw the Men’s Open Division dropping bombs all over the grid at Bryan Park with Reigning 2-Time ALD™ World Champion Scottie Pearman picking up his first Professional win over a field that included 4 of the Top 50 Hitters in the WLDA World Rankings.
In the Finals Scottie defeated #12 Ranked Wes Patterson 349.2 to 313 to collect the winner share of $5,400 and Wes picked up $3,000 of the $10,400 purse. The Semi-finals featured 2 great match ups as Scottie defeated World #4 ranked Justin James 343 to 326 in the first match and Wes defeated World #23 Jim Waldron in the closest match of the day 329.6 to 328.3, Jim and Justin both collected $1,000 for their 3 place finishes. Justin James did collect the CGI Longest Ball of the Day Bonus for a 353.1 yard drive in the first round of double eliminations.
Just missing out on the money in the loser’s bracket finals were 2-Time Master’s World Champion Jeff Crittenden and ALD World Championship runner-up Aaron Hoffman.
