Pebble Beach, Calif. – Troon Events, a luxury travel experiences and tournaments division of Troon, is pleased to announce the acquisition and hosting of the 2023 Cobra Puma Pro Am at Pebble Beach Resorts. The five-day, 72-team tournament features competition across three award-winning golf courses: Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill Golf Course, and The Links at Spanish Bay. The 2023 event is set for February 14-19, 2023.
The Cobra Puma Pro Am has a 30-plus year history at Pebble Beach Resorts and was previously managed by Creative Events Inc. Four-person teams, consisting of three amateurs and one golf professional, compete in both team and individual competitions across four rounds. Amateur competition features gross and net scoring, with top teams earning prizes from Cobra Puma Golf. Top professional golfers will compete for a share of the $10,000 purse. Teams play one round each at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay before the field is cut. Top performing teams return to Pebble Beach for the final round, while the other remaining teams compete in consolation tournaments at Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay.
“We are thrilled to continue the rich tradition of the Cobra Puma Pro Am at Pebble Beach Resorts, an event that will serve as a cornerstone tournament in the Troon Events tournament series that is under development.” said Troon President and CEO Tim Schantz.
Pebble Beach Golf Links is the No. 1 ranked public golf course in America, and annually hosts PGA TOUR and PGA Champions Tour events. Seven men’s major championships have been played at Pebble Beach, and the first women’s major championship in the course’s illustrious history will take place in 2023 with the U.S. Women’s Open.
Cobra Puma Golf returns as the title sponsor for the fourth consecutive year, outfitting competitors with their signature apparel, state-of-the art-equipment and weeklong custom fitting experience.
“Pebble Beach is such a special place, and we’re excited to extend our Pro-Am sponsorship at these iconic golf courses,” said Jason Personette, VP Sales, COBRA PUMA GOLF. “This event gives us the opportunity to engage with our customers and we look forward to the continued success of this event with our new partner, Troon Events.”
Cobra Puma Pro Am entrants receive five nights accommodations at The Inn at Spanish Bay, four rounds of golf, daily breakfast, a welcome reception, daily hospitality events, an awards banquet, VIP gifts from Cobra Puma, and much more.
Registration for the 2023 Cobra Puma Pro Am is now open and the field is expected to fill quickly. For more information, visit: www.troon.com/cobrapumaproam.
