Signs With SFX
Reston, VA (June 30, 2009) – 2009 Hogan Award Winner, Kyle Stanley, has turned professional, and made his professional debut last week at the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, where he finished T19. SFX World, with whom Stanley has signed a multi-year representation agreement, will exclusively manage all aspects of his business affairs.
Stanley leaves Clemson after his junior year as a three-time NCAA All American and the only player to win both the ACC Freshman of the Year Award and the ACC Player of the Year Award in the same year.
Stanley won the 2009 Hogan Award given to the Nation’s top amateur and college player, as well as the 2009 Southern Amateur (his second Southern Amateur win) and the 2009 Jones Cup. He finished his college career by placing 2nd in the NCAA Individual Championship, marking his second runner-up finish in three years. Recently, Stanley earned a second trip to the United States Open Championship by earning medalist honors at the Columbus Sectional shooting rounds of 62-70. His play last week at Bethpage saw him make the cut, earning an exemption to Second Stage of the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament.
He will be playing a global schedule that will include sponsor’s exemptions in up to seven PGA TOUR events during the remainder of the 2009 season. In addition to the Travelers Championship, Stanley is confirmed for the John Deere Classic (July 9-12), the US Bank Championship (July 16-19) and the Wyndham Championship (August 20-23). Stanley already competed in the Arnold Palmer Invitational (March 26-29) earlier this year.
Stanley recently signed a multi-year agreement to represent Titleist and Foot-Joy, and will be exclusively using their products. In addition Stanley joins Zach Johnson in representing Transamerica, and will be featured along with Johnson in their upcoming Power of the Pyramid marketing campaign. He will prominently display the Transamerica logo on the chest of his apparel as part of his multi-year agreement with the company. Dunning Sportswear has also added Stanley to their golf staff and will position Stanley to showcase their classic prep wardrobe with their new Shield Crest. Also recently announced, Stanley will represent Berkeley Hall and play out of their facility in South Carolina. He will display the course logo on his golf bag and make appearances on the club’s behalf.
“I am extremely excited to begin my professional career. I put a lot of time and research into choosing a company to manage my affairs and am 100% confident that SFX is the best company to do that. They have a proven track record of helping athletes reach their goals both on and off the golf course, and their commitment to excellence is very evident. I am also very proud to have such a first-class group of companies supporting me such as Titleist, Transamerica, Dunning and of course Berkeley Hall.” Stanley said.
Brad Buffoni, Stanley’s manager and Executive Vice President of SFX said, “Kyle is one of the most physically talented and gifted players I have ever seen. In addition he has an unmatched work ethic and drive to be the best. We could not be more excited to partner with Kyle to help him reach all of his goals.”
